Swansea coach upset by his team's defender injury

The Swansea manager is very upset about the injury of his defender.

Swansea

boss Steven Cooper has complained that defender Brandon Cooper will be sidelined for several months with an ankle injury.

The 21-year-old defender returned to Liberty Stadium last week after a loan spell at Newport and was not allowed to play in the FA Cup match against Stevenage, but hoped to play in the championship for his side. However, his hopes were dashed by the injury he suffered in training, and the Swansea manager is now upset about what happened.

“We are gutted for him as much as anything else, and it was so innocuous,” said Cooper.

“It is really unfortunate and we are disappointed for Brandon because he has come back with real confidence and been working really well with the group.”

The Swansea boss also confirmed that they intend to sign a goalkeeper for their team.

“We are close to signing a goalkeeper with the injury to Steven,” he added.
