Mourinho clarifies the reason for Ndombele’s absence against Arsenal

The Portuguese coach spoke of his player and the return of fans to the stadium as they faced Arsenal.

According to

Tottenham

manager,

Jose Mourinho

, the reason for

Tanguy Ndombele

outing ahead of their

Arsenal

match was due to his fitness fear. The

France

international, who had the chance to play for an hour during their recent Europa League clash, was expected to get featured for the derby match but he decided to not take part in the game.

Mourinho who spoke to

Sky Sports News

about the player said:

"[It was] a problem he couldn't recover from. We were positive and expecting until the last moment but this morning he decided he was not ready."

The Portuguese manager added about the return of the fans to their stadium saying:

"It is football, that is the joy of football. They are [showing passionate support] in their houses, in front of televisions, so if they have the chance to come to the stadium they have to enjoy [it]."

He also commented on their win after

Son Heung-min

and

Harry Kane

scored their two winning goals and whether Arsenal are an easy target or not.

"It means nothing to me. I told the players it is very dangerous if they look at the table and forget what Arsenal can be, what Arsenal are and what Arsenal were. They can come for the big matches. Arsenal will be a very hard opponent."
