Italy will be in World Cup qualifiers top seeds
Italy have already secured the top seed in the 2022 World Cup qualifying draw, as Switzerland failed to beat Spain at the Nations League.
Last week The Azzuri beat Estonia 4-0 in a friendly match that improved their FIFA Ranking position, and because Switzerland bottled a win against Spain in last .night’s Nations League encounter, it means they cannot catch up to Italy in time
The draw for the 2022 World Cup qualifying groups will be next month, and The Blues will be top seeds.
That is the situation even if they were to lose both remaining Nations League matches against Poland this evening and the Netherlands next week.
