Joshua Kimmich, born on 8 February 1995 in Rottweil, is a German footballer playing as a midfielder for the German club

and the German national team. After starting his career in the small club VfB Bösingen, Kimmich went to the VfB Stuttgart football academy at the age of 12. He went through all levels of youth training at the club right up until the 2012/13 season, when he played 21 games in the Bundesliga under-19.

Kimmich was transferred to the then third-league

Joshua Kimmich Early Life

He was raised in the academy of VfB Stuttgart, where he came through the age-group teams to the U17 team in 2010, appearing in 9 games during the season. He was a key player for the U17 team in the 2011-12 season and went on to score 4 goals in 25 league games. After playing two international matches for the U-17 team in 2011 (against

on 12 and 15 November) and another five for the U-18 team in 2013, Kimmich marked his debut on 13 November 2013 in the U-19 team's 4-3 win over France in Bayonne, where he scored his first international goal in the 49th minute to tie the game at 2-2.
