Declan Rice admits Champions League dream while focused on England

England midfielder Declan Rice attended a press conference on Thursday where he talked about his Champions League dream as well as England’s preparation for the knockout stages.

It seems that the Hammers captain will no longer be around the club when summer of 2023 comes around as he claims he is desperate to play in the Champions League.

Rice, who has been partnered with

Jude Bellingham

and is on track to share the

England

stage with the impressive Dortmund midfielder for years to come, was asked about his desire to play in the Champions League, to which he replied: “Yeah, 100%. For the last two or three years I have been saying that. I have been playing consistently well for [my] club and I feel like I really want to keep pushing.

“I see my friends here who are playing in the Champions League and for big trophies… you only get one career and at the end of your career you want to look back at what you have won and the biggest games you have played in. I am really ambitious.”

Rice

also praised his teammate Jude Bellingham, saying: "There's been a lot of goals he's scored where he has made that late bursting run into the box and scored."

He went on to compare Bellingham’s style to that of Lampard as well as talking about England squad’s togetherness and their “100%” readiness if any match ends in penalty shoot-outs.
