Pickford out for a month after thigh injury

Jordan Pickford was extraordinary during Everton’s draw with Liverpool, pulling off eight saves, but the England shot-stopper will be out of action for a month.

Gareth Southgate

will not have

Jordan Pickford

for England’s final games before the World Cup.

According to reports from Stats Perform,

Everton

are hoping the goalkeeper, who has been dealing with a thigh injury, will not be out for more than four weeks.

The club released a statement on Wednesday, after Pickford’s injury reports, saying he would not come back to action until after the international break, which begins on September 19.

Frank Lampard’s side have been dealt a blow as they are winless in the Premier League this season, notwithstanding having shown development in their recent games, such as their 0-0 draw with Liverpool on Saturday.

Pickford was amazing in the game, pulling off eight saves.

Southgate has also received bad news as his side goes against Italy on September 23 and Germany three days after in the Nations League.

England have not won a game in the Nations League this year and were defeated 4-0 against Hungary in June. Their next clash comes against Iran on November 21.

However, Pickford’s injury will provide a chance for Nick Pope, Aaron Ramsdale and dean Henderson to show their potentials to Southgate before the World Cup in Qatar.

Everton, on the other hand, will not have their goalkeeper for their battle against Arsenal on Sunday and a home game against West Ham on September 18.
