Charlotte FC are not planning to sign Guardado

MLS newcomers are not interested in the Mexican star despite recent links with the player.

Charlotte FC

are keen to add high-quality players to their squad as they are planning to compete in the

MLS

for the first time. The club are a year away from their first pre-season and are currently having only three players in their squad. The club has been linked with a potential massive transfer as the Spanish sources reported their contacts with the Spanish star

Andres Guardado

. However, new reports suggest that this transfer won’t take place as the American club are not interested in signing the

Real Betis

player.

Charlotte were initially planning for a 2021 debut season but due to the Coronavirus, they have another year on their hand to complete their squad and get ready for the competition. Guardado is one of Mexico’s most decorated players who has played for El Tri in four World Cups and has scored 28 goals for the national team. The player’s contract with Real Betis will expire in 2022 as he has already fallen down the pecking order. The Mexican has played only eight games in the current season and has recently tested positive for COVID-19.
