Betis' captain, Joaquin, reveals his decision for the club’s future

Joaquin’s vote will be decisive in the upcoming Betis’ shareholders’ meeting, which is planned to be held on December 21, as he holds around 2% of shares of the club.

Real Betis

’ co-presidents,

Angel Haro

and

Jose Miguel Lopez Catalan

, are up to face a new challenge as a new movement has been emerged to defy them. Betis’ former president,

Lorenzo Serra Ferrer

, leads the project with the slogan “another Betis is possible”.

Although the movement has been backed by some major shareholders as Joaquin Caro Ledesma, Francisco Galera, and Rafael Salas, it’s Betis’ captain’s vote which will be decisive to the future of the club, who bought 2% of shares of the club in December 2017.

Joaquin

revealed his position in an Instagram post, labeling the movement as “another attempt to destabilize the club.”

“As a Betico, I’m convinced with tiredness that this is another attempt to destabilize the club,”

Joaquin

wrote on Instagram.

“I don’t know how many we have lived in the last 20 years and this one is wrong from my point of view, in its discourse and manner above all during this complicated time we are living.

“I can only tell you that it’s not my intention to go back to the past.

“I prefer to seek unity, to bet on the present and look to the future even in the knowledge that mistakes were made, convinced that the only tool that exists and that we have historically lacked institutionally is unity.

“Long live Betis.”
