Alberto made his reserve debut for the side on 21 October 2009, coming in as a 15-minute substitute in a 2-0 victory over Sunderland reserves. Joining Juventus and Milan on a loan 

On 21 August 2010, the footballer joined the Italian club Juventus for a season long loan. He debuted for the side on 12 September in a 3-3 draw with Sampdoria while replacing Simone Pepe. Alberto preferred to play as a central midfielder or box-to-box midfielder, a position known as the "mezz'ala" role in Italy.
