Zidane misses Alaves game due to positive Covid test

the Liga giants have revealed Zinedine Zidane has tested positive for Covid-19 and will not trip with the team ahead of their Saturday La Liga clash with Alaves.

Madrid have said in a statement on their official website

: “Real Madrid CF announces that our coach Zinedine Zidane has tested positive for Covid-19.”

This means

Zidane’s

assistant,

Davide Bettoni

, will be taking care of first-team affairs for the next few games as the Los Blancos are preparing themselves for an important match against

Alaves

as they have gone three games without a win, slipping out of the Super Cup and Copa del Rey in the process.

Real Madrid

are also seven points behind their local rivals,

Atletico

, in the La Liga title race with the Roji Blancos having one game in hand over them.

Zidane

joins the long list of senior figures at the Bernabeu to contract coronavirus, along with

Nacho Fernandez, Luka Jovic, Eden Hazard, Casemiro,

and

Eder Militao.
