Barcelona's Riqui Puig to join LA Galaxy permanently

Putting the youngster out of their pre-season tour, Barcelona has affirmed the La Masia product he is permitted to depart the club, with Lazio and Valencia rumored to be interested in Puig, the Spaniard is reportedly close to joining the MLS side, LA Galaxy.

. As the outlet reports, Riqui Puig will join

LA Galaxy

on a free transfer while Catalans will retain a percentage of any sale.

After moving to Barcelona's first team by Ernesto Valverde during the 2018-19 season, Puig put on some great performances and forced his way into the first team. He was used mostly as a substitute for Ernesto Valverde and Quique Setien during the 2019-20 season. However, he had no place in

Xavi

or Koeman's plans.

 

Riqui Puig

started his football journey at the age of 6 by joining his hometown club's academy, Jabac Terrassa. Puig spent the next six years at the academy until he was signed up by Barcelona in 2013. He progressed through the academy ranks until 2017 when he was promoted to Barcelona's senior team and started his professional career.

Overall, Riqui Puig has played 88 Games during his club career, registering 5 goals and 16 assists to his name. Playing a total of 3 games for the Spain U-21 side, Puig is yet to earn a call to Spain's senior side.
