Leverkusen won’t pursuit Azmoun anymore and will keep Alario

According to the report on Kicker magazine’s website, Bayer 04 Leverkusen have decided to extend Lucas Alario’s contract and also to drop their pursuit of Sardar Azmoun as not only he is too expensive, but they also need a new winger more than another center-forward due to the Leon Bailey sale.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen

have decided to end the discussion of a possible move for

Lucas Alario

and also shelve their pursuit of Iranian attacker

Sardar Azmoun

, according to the latest information published by Germany's preeminent footballing publication.

According to the report on Kicker magazine’s website, the Argentine striker has agreed to extend his contract for three years.

On the other hand, the Zenit St. Petersburg center-forward seems too expensive for Germany’s red company team with a price tag in the region of €30 million. Also after the Leon Bailey sale, signing a new winger is more important than a center-forward.

With regard to two other transfers in the Bayer pipeline, the report suggests that the negotiations over Joel Pohjanpalo have not yet concluded and could even alter the club’s calculus about looking for another lead attacker. The report also suggests a possibility of a move for defender Wendell and says that his recent absence from the team was actually because of an injury.
