Fabrizio Romano: Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour to join Brighton permanently
Although the Blues choose to trigger Billy Gilmour’s one-year extension earlier in the summer, the youngster is on the verge of a permanent move to the Seagulls while the Blues are also offloading Ethan Ampadu to Spezia on loan.

Scotlandinternational spent the last season on loan at
Norwich, where he impressed making 21 appearances. However, although
Thomas Tuchelwas eager to keep the youngster at
Chelsea, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and Ruben Loftus-Cheek left no room for the Scottish midfielder as he is set to join
Brighton and Hove Albionpermanently.

“Billy Gilmour will undergo medical with Brighton in the next few hours — Chelsea accepted the proposal, it’s a permanent deal.”
