Tuchel admits Chelsea might miss on main targets Fofana and Gordon

While Leicester City rejected Chelsea’s third £60m plus add-ons offer, Chelsea also made a £60m offer to sign Everton striker Anthony Gordon despite the Toffees' unwillingness to sell the striker.

Although

Chelsea

has spent £176.5m on transfers in the first summer of Todd Boehly's era, the Blues boss admits they might end up missing on their priority transfer targets,

Wesley Fofana

and

Anthony Gordon

.

Ahead of their Saturday Premier League clash with

Leicester City

,

Thomas Tuchel

told his press conference being asked how many players he expects to add to his squad in the final days of the summer transfer window:

"We have some ideas, but maybe nobody comes in.

"It's not a long window anymore, so it closes soon and the focus is on the things we can influence.

"No matter what we want, there are always several parties involved who have to agree."

After a 2-2 draw with

Tottenham Hotspur

, Tuchel is poised to serve a touchline ban or his spat with

Antonio Conte

while the latter dodged any charge by the FA.

Tuchel said on Friday:

"I can understand that I get a ban and I get a fine, but what I don't understand is the other coach does not get the same punishment

."

Despite a heart-crashing 3-0 defeat at

Leeds United

last weekend, the German is optimistic his side would bounce back tomorrow. He added:

"I'm not 100 percent sure where we are, how we are, who we are."

"It's not only about shouting for players. The squad was strong enough to win a match at Leeds, and by far too strong to lose 3-0."

"We absolutely dislike to lose and as painful as it is to analyze these things and look at it again, it's necessary and we always get a response.

"These things, we don't like them, but they're maybe sometimes, in a process like this, necessary to sharpen your vision and have a clear view on things."
