Slot is one step away from Liverpool
Speculations and financial agreements surround the Dutch coach’s move to the Reds
Liverpool Football Club is confidently and steadily approaching the final step in securing the successor to coach Jurgen Klopp, who announced his resignation from coaching the team at the end of the current season.
Through multiple press reports, Liverpool’s name has been linked with a number of coaches, including Arne Slot, the skilled Dutch coach who is currently working with Feyenoord team.
According to what “The Athletic” newspaper published, it seems that Liverpool has reached an agreement with Feyenoord team regarding the value of the financial dues that will be paid to include Slot.
It has been confirmed that Slot is now free to negotiate with Liverpool after the end of the current Dutch league season.
On the other hand, “Sky Sports” network announced that Liverpool agreed to pay 7.7 million pounds sterling, in addition to 1.7 million pounds as additional bonuses.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Slot will become the most expensive Dutch coach in history after agreeing to pay an amount ranging between 13 and 15 million euros.
Feyenoord team refused the first offer submitted by Liverpool, which reached 9 million euros this week, but an agreement was reached in the last hours.
Slot expressed his strong desire to take over the coaching of Liverpool, expressing his hope to reach a final agreement between the two clubs.
It is worth mentioning that the Dutch coach led Feyenoord team to win the local league title last season, which is the team’s first title in 20 years.
