Diego Simeone confirms his players’ readiness and praises the strength of the German team before their match tomorrow.
Argentine coach Diego Simeone, the technical director of Atletico Madrid, expressed his deep confidence in his players today, Monday, less than 24 hours before his team’s crucial match against host Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
In his statements during the pre-match press conference, Simeone confirmed: “We are ready for Tuesday’s confrontation, and we must not think too much about the course of the match… I feel that our players are in a good morale, they will play with a distinguished performance, and this will be another enjoyable night of Champions League nights.”
“El Cholo” added that he enters the confrontation “with great aspiration, escalating enthusiasm, tension, anxiety, and a sense of responsibility, and we will do our utmost to present a distinguished performance.” The Argentine coach praised the strength of Borussia Dortmund’s team, confirming that it is an exceptionally strong team on its ground.
In another context, he said: “Certainly, Borussia will start the match with high activity, and we must maintain our high level as we did in previous matches… The team responds excellently, there is great confidence, and we are ready to present a great performance.”
The first leg match that was held in Madrid ended with Atletico Madrid winning with a score of (2-1).
