Greenwood's Italian Job: The Transfer Saga Unfolds

Juventus Eyes United Outcast as Greenwood's Future Hangs in the Balance

Juventus is reportedly eyeing a move for Mason Greenwood, the 22-year-old

Manchester United

player currently on loan at Getafe in La Liga. Juventus has been monitoring Greenwood's situation for some time and has been gathering more information about him. With Greenwood's contract at Old Trafford expiring in 2025, Juventus sees his youth, talent, and contractual status as appealing factors for a potential transfer.

While Getafe is interested in extending Greenwood's loan, Manchester United prefers a permanent sale, and Atletico Madrid has also shown interest. However, Barcelona is reluctant to pursue Greenwood due to potential repercussions. Greenwood's past legal issues, stemming from allegations of rape and sexual assault in January 2022, resulted in his suspension from Manchester United, although all charges were dropped in February 2023, clearing the way for his loan to Getafe.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero believes Greenwood would thrive at Juventus, envisioning a formidable attacking trio alongside Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa. For now, Greenwood will continue his loan spell at Getafe until the summer, after which both Manchester United and the player will likely assess his future. His next match will be against Sevilla after the international break on March 30th.
