Chelsea’s qualification at the expense of Leicester City in the English FA Cup

Four goals with which the Blues enhance their position in the competition amid outstanding performance At Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans enjoyed an exciting and important victory over their guest Leicester City in the quarter-finals of the English FA Cup, where the match ended with an exciting result (4-2). The scoring was opened for the Blues by Marc Cucurella in the 13th minute, followed by Cole Palmer in the 45+1 minute, then Carney Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke added two more goals in the 90+2 and 90+8 minutes respectively. Leicester City responded with two goals, one of them through Axel Disasi in the 51st minute, and the other signed by Stephy Mavididi in the 62nd minute. Leicester’s matters got complicated after the expulsion of Callum Doyle in the 73rd minute, which made it complete the match with ten players, which contributed to its exit from the championship.

At the beginning of the meeting, Leicester was closer to opening the scoring, but Winks’ shot outside the penalty area was not accurate enough to threaten the goal. On the other hand, Chelsea took advantage of the first opportunity that was available to it, after Jackson’s penetration inside the penalty area and his pass to Cucurella who scored the first goal.

Although Chelsea was close to adding more goals, Modric’s shot hit Sterling’s foot and caused it to change its path. Sterling also wasted two clear chances, the first from a penalty kick and the second with a very strong shot.

In the second half, Disasi made a fatal mistake, allowing Sanchez to advance and reduce the difference with a shot that contributed to the scoring of Leicester’s second goal. Then Mavididi added the second goal for his team with a skillful shot.

In the 71st minute, Jackson got a penalty kick after being obstructed inside the penalty area, but after using technology, it turned out that the obstruction was outside the area, and Doyle was expelled instead of counting the penalty kick. In extra time, Chelsea succeeded in adding two more goals through Chukwuemeka and Madueke to confirm its victory and qualify for the next round of the championship.
