Rico prepares to return to Paris Saint -Germain after a tough challenge

With a warm and inspiring development, Rico is close to achieving a notable return to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after a challenging period that lasted for nine months of being away from the field, according to what “The Athletic” mentioned.

Rico’s return journey to the field goes back to a tragic accident on May 28, 2023, where he fell off a horse, which caused an expansion in the cerebral artery, a lethal condition that requires immediate surgery.

Despite Rico’s severe injuries and long rehabilitation process, he showed wonderful will and endurance. During the 82 days he spent in the hospital, he faced difficult physical challenges, including a huge weight loss of up to 19 kilograms (about 42 pounds). However, he succeeded in regaining 15 kilograms (about 33 pounds) of the lost weight, which attests to his strength and determination.

Rico’s severe condition led to a critical period that lasted 26 days, during which he was put in an induced coma to manage the cranial injury resulting from the fall. This stage was crucial for Rico’s recovery, as it allowed his body to recover under intensive medical supervision.

If Rico gets medical permission to resume training with PSG, it will be an important milestone in his recovery journey. Upon returning to training, he will provide competition for the top two in PSG - Keylor Navas and Gianluigi Donnarumma.
