Jorginho’s return to the Italian league

His agent reveals Lazio and Juventus’ interest, and opinions about the possibility of returning to Napoli

The 32-year-old player, who made a prominent transfer from Chelsea to Arsenal last year, succeeded in achieving an important position in the Gunners’ midfield. Notably, he was given the captain’s armband by Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta in the absence of the official captain Martin Odegaard.

While Jorginho holds an option to extend his stay with Arsenal for another season, doubts circulate about his future in the Emirates. His agent, Joao Santos, revealed the possibility of his return to the Italian league, pointing to Lazio as a preferred destination, with Juventus, AC Milan, Inter, and former Napoli also in competition.

In his talk to Play TV in Italy, Santos said: “Lazio would suit more, with the presence of coach Sarri who knows his characteristics well, but also Juventus who has a wonderful sports director like Cristiano Giuntoli, who spent many years with him in Napoli. I do not rule out his return to Napoli with the new coach Calzona, who was working with Sarri before that.”

Jorginho’s departure to the Italian league presents an exciting scenario where clubs compete to sign him, and sets the scene for a transfer window full of events. However, in the short term, Arteta may use him against Sheffield United next Monday in the English Premier League.
