The Egyptian Football Association Apology

The Egyptian Football Association issued a sincere apology to the fans on Wednesday for the performance of the Egyptian national team in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and for the early exit from the competition in the Round of 16 against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In an official statement, the association expressed its regret and apologized for the results achieved by the national team during its participation in the tournament. It acknowledged the disappointment of the Egyptian fans and recognized the efforts made by the board in providing all necessary support to prepare the team before and during the championship.

The board extended its thanks and appreciation to Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, the Minister of Youth and Sports, who represents the Egyptian state and political leadership, for his continuous support for the national teams. It highlighted the consultation and agreement with him in developing strategic plans to enhance their performance since the current board took office.

The association affirmed its solidarity with the emotions of the Egyptian fans and announced its intention to hold a meeting next Sunday to review technical, medical, and administrative reports, along with the report from the head of the team's mission, in order to make appropriate decisions. It emphasized that it would spare no effort in taking all necessary measures to improve the performance of the national teams in the future.
