Marcos Alonso's Fate and Offers from the Saudi Professional League

The future of Marcos Alonso at Barcelona is uncertain, with offers reportedly coming from several clubs in the Saudi Professional League. The question arises whether Alonso will leave Barcelona in January or continue until the end of his contract.

Alonso, who has appeared in only seven matches for Barcelona in all competitions this season, may part ways with the club in the future but not before the conclusion of his contract in the summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Spanish player is said to have offers from various clubs in the Saudi Professional League, and it was expected that he might depart when the transfer window opens in January. However, Alonso has no intention of moving until the end of his current contract.

There is a clause in Alonso's contract that allows Barcelona to extend his stay for an additional year, provided he plays half of the club's matches this season. With 299 minutes remaining on the field, it is unlikely that the former Chelsea star will regularly feature in Xavi's lineup for the rest of the season.

Of the four La Liga matches Alonso played this season, he was in the starting lineup only twice, against Villarreal and Celta Vigo. In the UEFA Champions League, the left-back played in both legs against Shakhtar Donetsk.

After defeating Atletico Madrid last weekend, Barcelona now aims to secure three points against Girona, the second-placed team, and close in on the points gap with Real Madrid, who currently lead with 39 points from 16 matches.
