Al Ahly Questions Summons of Hussein El-Shahat for Investigation – Sporting Dispute Turns Legal

In a swift move, Al Ahly Club has urgently requested an investigation by the Egyptian Football Association regarding the summons of Hussein El-Shahat to appear before the Public Prosecutor. This request comes in response to a complaint filed by Mohamed El-Sheibi, a player from Pyramids FC.

The incident in question involves an altercation between El-Shahat and El-Sheibi after a match between Al Ahly and Pyramids in the previous Egyptian league season.

In their statement, Al Ahly highlighted their communication with the Football Association, urging an immediate response regarding the alleged violation of the Egyptian and international federations' regulations. These regulations explicitly prohibit resorting to civil and administrative courts to resolve sports disputes.

Regarding the El-Shahat and El-Sheibi incident, the Competitions Committee took responsibility and implemented measures in accordance with competition regulations (Article 2). El-Shahat was suspended from participating in two matches and fined 20,000 Egyptian pounds. Al Ahly imposed an additional penalty by deducting half a million pounds from El-Shahat's dues. However, the club was surprised by El-Shahat being summoned for investigation by the New Cairo Public Prosecutor, conflicting with FIFA and Egyptian federation rules.

Al Ahly emphasized that El-Sheibi and Pyramids' behavior represents a violation of the organized rules of the game. The club expressed appreciation for this legal step, stressing the importance of an immediate response and clarification of the facts to take appropriate actions in safeguarding the rights of both the club and player Hussein El-Shahat.
