Bellingham and Haaland Clinch Golden Awards
In the global race for the Ballon d'Or awards, Bellingham and Haaland lead the pack as the most talented young players.
The 20-year-old English international midfielder has been recognized as the best player under 21 in the world. His outstanding performances with Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid have earned him the prestigious Golden Boy award, following in the footsteps of previous winners like Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappe, and Erling Haaland himself.
Bellingham, who scored 15 goals for Los Blancos in 17 matches, breaking records previously held by Cristiano Ronaldo, accepted his award in Turin. He expressed gratitude, saying, "I can't be more grateful to everyone I've met along the way who helped me reach the point I'm at now. I'm trying to contribute to making my team and my country the best teams in the world, and to be the best player in the world, you have to help your teams win. Joining this list is a great honor. I'm truly thankful for everything football has given me so far in my life, and the support of my family has been significant in enjoying the game."
Haaland also added another accolade to his distinguished record by winning the Best Player award from the Italian newspaper Tuttosport. The Manchester City striker managed to achieve a degree of revenge against Ballon d'Or winner Messi by securing this award, thanks to his impressive tally of 52 goals in the last season, during which City achieved historic treble success.
Bellingham and Haaland are expected to be contenders for future Ballon d'Or awards, alongside stars like Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain, Musiala of Bayern Munich, and the Barcelona duo Pedri and Gavi, forming part of an exciting generation of talents aspiring to dominate the competition.
