Arsenal Prepares to Renew Contract with Japanese Star

The Japanese player is close to reaching a new agreement with the London club in a successful end-of-year renewal for key players.

The Japanese international star joined Arsenal in 2021 from Bologna in the Italian league. Despite facing multiple injuries since then, his outstanding performance has made him a favorite among the fans.

According to a report from "The Athletic," it is expected that the 25-year-old star and Arsenal will agree on a new contract in due time. His current contract expires in 2025; however, the London club retains the option to extend it for an additional 12 months.

If the new contract is signed by Tomiyasu, who has played 71 matches for the team, this would be a successful conclusion to a year that saw the extension of contracts for other key players at Arsenal. In February, Gabriel Martinelli signed a new contract until 2027, followed by Bukayo Saka in May, and then Martin Odegaard signed a contract until 2028 in September. As Arsenal's ambitions lean towards winning championships, retaining such talented players, alongside strengthening the lineup, becomes essential.

In early November, Tomiyasu was chosen as the best player at Arsenal for the month of October by fan voting, marking his second award since September 2021.

Arsenal is gearing up for a Premier League home game on Saturday against Wolves, aiming to maintain its lead in the overall standings.
