Electricity Secures Victory Over Kuwait with a 1-0 Score

Mahmoud Khalil scores the winning goal, leading Electricity to the top of Group B.

Iraqi club Electricity shocked Kuwait, securing a 1-0 victory in their match held on Tuesday as part of the fifth round of the Asian Federation Cup Group B.

The lone goal in this encounter was scored by substitute Mahmoud Khalil, who delivered an outstanding performance and earned the Man of the Match award in the 74th minute. This win elevated his team's total points to 10, securing the top spot in the standings, while Kuwait remains in second place with 6 points.

Kuwait faces a decisive match in the final round of group stage against Jordan's Al-Wehdat in Amman, while Electricity will confront their rival Al-Ahli Aleppo.

The first half of the match saw a draw, with the gameplay concentrated in the midfield. After 20 minutes, Amory Faisal threatened Kuwait's goal, but goalkeeper Abdulrahman Kamel's vigilance saved the team.

Kuwait responded with several chances, but goalkeeper Amar Ali bravely defended his goal. In the second half, Kuwait abandoned their caution, and Taha Yassine Al-Khenissi came close to scoring on multiple occasions, but goalkeeper Amar Ali continued his excellent saves.

Kuwait's coach, Bres Boniak, attempted to invigorate his team through substitutions, but Mahmoud Khalil scored the sole goal in the 74th minute after capitalizing on a pass from Amory.

Despite Kuwait's attempts to attack with their three lines, haste deprived the team of equalizing, allowing Electricity to snatch the three points and achieve a valuable victory.
