Youssef Ibrahim 'Obama' Shines in the CAF Confederation Cup

Zamalek's captain, Yusuf Ibrahim "Obama," takes the spotlight among the White Knights' players after leading the team to a hard-fought victory over Libyan guest Abu Salim with a score of (1-0) last Sunday in the opening of the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Obama achieved several milestones with his goal against Abu Salim, surpassing his teammate Mahmoud Abdel Razek "Shikabala" as the leading scorer for Zamalek in continental competitions.

 

With this win, Obama raised his tally to 10 goals, including 5 in the CAF Confederation Cup, 4 in the Champions League, and an additional goal in the CAF Super Cup. This puts him ahead of Shikabala, who scored 9 goals throughout his career.

 

Obama stands out as one of Zamalek's key contributors in terms of goal involvements in African competitions, with a total of 15 contributions, including 10 goals and 5 assists.

 

With these numbers, Obama is closing in on Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim "Kahraba," a former Zamalek and current Al Ahly striker, in the goal-scoring department. He is just one goal away from equaling Kahraba as the top scorer for the White Knights in the CAF Confederation Cup with a total of 6 goals.

 

In the current season, Obama participated in 7 matches with Zamalek, scoring 4 goals, including 2 in the CAF Confederation Cup, earning him the title of the team's top scorer in the current season.

 

In total, Obama has played 221 matches for Zamalek throughout his career, scoring 44 goals and providing 26 assists.
