United in Negotiations with RB Leipzig for Timo Werner: Real Madrid on the Horizon

Sky Sport reports that Manchester United has initiated contact with RB Leipzig to explore potential transfer opportunities during the winter transfer window for German striker Timo Werner.

However, no official offers or negotiations have taken place between the two clubs thus far. The player's name is also linked to Real Madrid, but the Spanish club currently does not seem interested in signing him.

Timo Werner's situation at Leipzig is not entirely stable. The German forward has only played in two out of a total of eight Bundesliga matches this season, scoring two goals. Despite this, discussions suggest that he might be willing to wait until the summer transfer window before considering a move to another club.

Werner returned to RB Leipzig in 2022 after two challenging seasons with Chelsea, where he scored 23 goals in 89 matches across all competitions. Despite a promising start upon his return to Germany, scoring nine times in 27 Bundesliga matches, he seems to have lost his form in the current season.

Manchester United may face difficulties convincing Werner to return to the English Premier League, given his disappointing previous experience with Chelsea and his desire to stay and compete for a starting position in Leipzig's lineup until the end of the season.
