Gundogan: "Japan were clearly the better team"

Ilkay Gundogan, the captain of the German national team, said after the game that Japan deserved to win.
"Japan were clearly the better team. They were superior in every way. We also made too many individual mistakes,"
he said.
"The gap between ambition and reality is still big. We are not good enough right now. That's the reality. Maybe we think we are better than we are."
Ilkay Gundogan played 68 games for the German national team and scored 17 goals.
Germany will play against France in their next game.
