Lobotka has been a vital part of Napoli's Serie A and Champions League campaigns this season, playing in all of their matches so far. Lobotka, who plays as a holding midfielder, joined Napoli from Celta Vigo in January 2020, gradually becoming an important player for the team, especially following the departure of Fabian Ruiz.
Lobotka, who was not a regular starter before, has become an integral part of the team this season under Luciano Spalletti. Napoli has been dominating the league with an 18-point lead and is on track to win their first title since 1990.
Napoli has also been impressive in this season's Champions League, particularly in their 4-1 victory against 2022 finalists Liverpool in Naples. Lobotka, who has only scored twice for the team since his arrival, is now considered one of the team's most important players.
He will be looking to make his 100th competitive appearance for Napoli in their upcoming Champions League round-of-16 second leg match against Eintracht Frankfurt, following the announcement of his new contract on Wednesday.
