Pires claims Zidane wanted to lead France and has no interest in Brazil

According to his friend and former team-mate Robert Pires, Zidane desires to be the head coach of France national side and has no interest in coaching Brazil.

Following France's loss to Argentina in the 2022 World Cup final in December, Zidane appeared to be getting his privately held wish, but Didier

Deschamps

will remain as Les Bleus' head coach until the 2026 World Cup, a position he has held since 2012.

Brazil

is searching for a new coach after Tite stepped down and Zidane has been mentioned as a possible candidate.

"What he wanted was the France team. Well, we know it will not be possible since Didier is going again for four years.

"Now he has to change direction a little bit, by going to a club. Of course, there aren't many clubs that can afford Zizou."

Pires told about Zidane.

He then spoke about Zidane's opinion on Brazil:

"I say what I feel. Brazil, no. Because there is the language, and he wants to understand what is happening when things are not going well.

For that, you have to speak Portuguese well. Brazil was not topical for him."
