PSG rules Mbappe out of Champions League first-leg against Bayern

After sustaining a hamstring injury during the Parisians' Ligue 1 clash with Montpellier, Mbappe is set to miss his side's Champions League last-16 first match against Bayern.

Thanks to goals from Fabian Ruiz, Lionel Messi, and Warren Zaire-Emery,

Paris Saint-Germain

secured a 3-1 away victory over Montpellier on Wednesday.

However,

Kylian Mbappe

was forced off the field after sustaining a muscle problem in the first half. Now club confirms the 24-year-old striker will miss Ligue 1 games against Toulouse, Monaco, and Lille as well as their Coupe de France clash with Marseille.

On top of them all, Mbappe will sit out of their Champions League last-16 first-leg tie against Bayern Munich. Scoring 25 goals in 26 appearances for PSG this term, Mbappe was crucial to the reigning Ligue 1 champions' season.

The club said in a statement:

"After examinations, Kylian Mbappe suffered from a lesion of the left thigh at the level of the femoral biceps. His recovery time is estimated at three weeks.

Sergio Ramos also came off against Montpellier after suffering a head injury. The club confirms the Spaniard will undergo "further examinations".
