Arsenal are in talks with Roma over the signing of Italy international midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo this month.

Nicolo Zaniolo

in the January transfer window and already has contacted Roma. Gianluca Di Marzio also claims that Roma would sell Zaniolo if they receive an offer between €30m and €40m.

After failing to sign Mykhailo Mudryk, Arsenal still wants to sign an attacking player and now is looking for the alternatives.

Gazzetta Dello Sport also reported on Tuesday that Tottenham is considering signing Zaniolo. They were also interested in signing him last summer.

Zaniolo’s contract expires in June 2024 and the negotiations have not begun yet. Juventus has also been linked with the 23-year-old forward in recent months.

Zaniolo’s agent Claudio Vigorelli recently said they demand a salary in line with the transfer value made by the club.

“Nobody is surprised that a player like Zaniolo, who is 23 and has a contract expiring in 2024, is being monitored by many important clubs.”

he

told Gazzetta.

“There are no clouds on the horizon, we have an excellent rapport with Roma and Tiago Pinto and we’ve agreed that we’ll discuss a contract extension in the future when the club think it’s best.

“Now, the most important thing is to focus on work and performance on the pitch.

“The club know that we are ready to sit down and negotiate. I repeat that the rapport with Pinto is excellent and Zaniolo is happy in Rome and with fans.”

Recently, Roma legend, Francesco Totti said Zaniolo doesn’t have the right mentality, and the Italy international was booed by a section of the fans during a 1-0 win against Genoa in the Coppa Italia last week.

Zaniolo has scored two goals in 17 matches this season. He also has scored two goals in 11 appearances for Italy.
