Australia boss Graham Arnold makes Eredivisie claim

After getting their first World Cup win over Tunisia, Graham Arnold has admitted he would love to go back to NAC Breda, a team he played for, and bring them back to Eredivisie

Australia got their first win in the 2022 World Cup by defeating Tunisia with the narrowest margin. Interestingly enough, one of the topics that the

manager, Graham Arnold talked about following the game was his desire to return to Dutch team NAC Breda and help them get back to Eredivisie.

NAC Breda was once one of the regulars of any Eredivisie season but they now sit 15th in the second tier (Eerste Divisie). Graham Arnold used to play at the club between 95 and 97 and scored 35 goals in 63 matches.

"I would love to return to NAC. The negative energy has to get out and the culture has to change. It's about winning again. Hopefully I can try it someday.”

Arnold told Voetbal International.

"I just want to bring the club back to the Eredivisie. You know, I was there in 2018 by invitation. I stayed at the bar in the second half. It sucked.

"I just couldn't take it any more. Breda deserves a club at the highest level. NAC should play against Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV. Not against Jong FC Utrecht.

"I still follow every game from Australia and every week I get angry when I see the result. My heart is with NAC. It's my club and Breda is my city."

Arnold’s current team however, will meet

in their last group stage game, hoping to get a win and progress to the knockout stage alongside France.
