Martinez: "No one in Belgium is hungier than Lukaku"
Internazionale superstar has been out with an injury for the majority of the season so far and after a race against the time, his Belgium manager Martinez confirms he's desperate to represent his country in the World Cup.
Lukaku who is back at
Interalbeit on loan from Chelsea was looking to return to form in preparation for the
World Cupbut the former Chelsea man couldn’t catch a break since he has been sidelined since August with a hamstring injury and since coming back Romelu Lukaku has suffered a muscle injury as well, which puts his appearance in the World Cup into question.
On the availability of his players, Martinez told his press conference:
“I have 25 players in great shape, the only one who isn’t is Lukaku.
“We are happy with the progress he is making, but don’t know yet if he’ll be fully fit for the second or third game. He had a very good session yesterday, not with the rest of the group, but is progressing consistently.”
However, Martinez warns
Lukaku
to be aware of any possible injury backlash.
“If I listen to the medics, he’ll be ready for the third game. If I listen to him, it’s possible to have him back for the second match.”
