Conte feared for his life after Spurs’ late goal

Spurs completed an incredible comeback from 2-0 down to win the game in the 92nd minute with Rodrigo Bentancur’s goal but Antonio conte couldn’t control his nerves after Tottenham’s winner!

In a week that was all doom and gloom for Tottenham fans, it seemed like they were about to get another bad result but Conte’s boys were able to turn it around and come back from 2-0 down to win it at the last minute.

Antonio Conte who has recently had a few run ins with strange VAR decisions in Tottenham’s last week loss to Newcastle and their draw against Marseille in the Champions League, could not bear to witness another decision not go their way. Rodrigo Bentacur scored the winner for the Spurs but Conte couldn’t bear to watch the goal be overturned by VAR so he left the pitch.

"I came back when I knew that the goal was regular.”

Told Conte. "

I thought in my mind and my heart I can have a heart attack because in two days to score and then have goal disallowed. I said I go down and then stay calm and then I wait for the decision of the referee.

"I don't want to think what my mood would be if we lose this game... In the second half, despite conceding the second goal, we started to play nasty, with a will and desire. To not only move the ball and show we are good and nice, but in an effective way."

After their back to back losses to Manchester United and Newcastle in the Premier League Conte was relieved that to see Tottenham on winning ways again.

"In the end I think it was vital for us this win, especially after two losses in the Premier League and now this win has to give us enthusiasm, passion to go into Marseille and play a final,"

he added.
