“Bayern made a statement tonight” claims Nagelsmann

Bayern Munich achieved an easy 3-0 victory at Spotify Camp Nou as Julian Nagelsmann became the first manager in the Champions League history to win four games against Barcelona

After winning all four of their previous games in the Champions League this season,

Bayern Munich

needed only a point to secure their place as the winners in the so-called Group of Death but the Bavarians as usual were not sated by anything other than victory, repeating the now familiar tale of winning against Barcelona.

"The way we won gives us a lot of energy. I don't think Barça were expecting us to be so bold. But you have to do that when you play against Barcelona. We scored two lovely goals and added a third at the end"

told Nagelsmann to DAZN.

He continued by praising Bayern’s defence, stating:

"We didn't let them have any shots on goal; we defended with so much passion. The team made a statement tonight."

In a night where Barcelona kept a clean sheet at the hostile Camp Nou stadium, Gnabry who had the hat-trick of assists wasn’t given the Man of the Match award, instead the award went to Matthijs de Ligt who was also surprised that he won the award over Gnabry.

"We won 3-0, played very well and kept a clean sheet. I'm happy to be named Man of the Match; I'm really happy about that."

de Ligt

to UEFA.

Regarding his duel with

, de Ligt stated:

"It was very difficult. For me he is the best striker in the world, you always have to be awake against him. He plays very intelligently. But together, we made sure he didn't score tonight"

With this victory Julian Nagelsmann has now a perfect record in the Champions League group stage since the Bavarians has won all 11 of their games under his leadership since he took over as manager at the start of the last season.
