The victory against Rangers meant a lot to Liverpool - Klopp

Liverpool thrashed Rangers 7-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday courtesy of goals from Firmino, Nunez, Salah, and Elliott.

Jurgen Klopp

was delighted with Liverpool’s performance against Rangers in the Champions League as they grabbed a thumping 7-1 victory in their Group A clash. Despite Rangers taking the lead 17 minutes into the game, Roberto Firmino pulled the game level soon after and was able to give the Reds a lead with his second goal. Darwin Nunez’s performance was also praised by the Reds boss as he found the back of the net to further seal Liverpool’s victory.

Mohamed Salah also netted a hat-trick, which Klopp described as the fastest UEFA Champions League hat-trick in history, saying:

“Special, typical Mo.”

This was a big win for Jurgen Klopp’s side and when asked about the victory, Klopp said:

“We usually drink a beer after away games, it’s that long ago since I drank. We’ll probably be drunk.”

The Liverpool manager then went on to reveal what the victory meant for his side.

“You could see with Darwin [Núñez], it meant the world to him.”

“Meeting us in the wrong moment is not cool.”

Klopp believes his side were crushing it on Wednesday in their battle against Rangers notwithstanding the incredible Ibrox atmosphere.
