Galtier admits PSG “did everything” to sign Milan Skriniar last summer

Although PSG was heavily linked with a move for Skriniar, Inter stood firm on their €70m valuation to keep their centre-back as PSG's boss responds to the rumors.

During the summer, there were a lot of rumors that the 27-year-old Slovakian defender would be moving to

Paris Saint-Germain

. Even though France was interested, Skriniar stayed with Inter entering the last year of his current contract, which opens up the possibility of a free move in the next summer.

Christophe Galtier told

Calciomercato

:

“We wanted a new central defender and a striker with certain characteristics, our president did everything he could to bring them to Paris.”

Parisians reportedly submitted an offer worth around €50m while

Inter

stood firm on their €70m+ valuation. Now, with the risk of losing the player for free next summer, the Milanese club hopes to convince the 27-year-old defender to sign a new contract with the club.

When asked at a press conference about a possible move away from Inter in January,

Milan Skriniar

didn't want to talk about his future. He said:

"I've never said a word, and I'd rather keep it that way. We came here to play this game, and I don't want to discuss my future or my contract because I don't think it's the right time or place.

"When there is news, you will hear it from me and no one else. I have never spoken, and I like it that way.”
