Rob Edwards fired from Watford, Bilic replaced as new head coach
The Croat replaced Edwards at Watford to lead the team to their goal of returning to the Premier League.
announced that Rob Edwards has been sacked as manager and Slaven Bilic has replaced him on the bench.
Bilic has signed an 18-month contract with Watford and will replace Edwards, who was on the bench for just 11 games in three months. Edwards, who enjoyed good results with Forest Green and won the League Two title, took over after Watford's relegation from the Premier League.
He initially got good results in the team and managed to get 7 points in the first 3 games, but after that he got only 1 win and became the 17th manager to be fired from Watford since the Pozzo family took over in 2012.
Watford owner Gino Pozzo said:
"As with all decisions taken by the Board, I believe this change to be in the best interests of the club.
"We felt Rob had enough time to show us the identity of his team, however performances haven't reflected our hopes and ambitions.
"Now we must move forward, and, in Slaven Bilic, we have secured the services of an experienced coach who has recent experience of promotion to the Premier League."

Bilic, who has a history of coaching in the Premier League, takes over Watford as the team sits 10th in the Championship table and faces Stoke City on Sunday. The 54-year-old coach was last in charge of
West Hamin the Premier League and managed to return to the Premier League in the 2019-20 season with
West Brom.
