Since Graham Potter is being considered for a vacant job at Chelsea, Alexis Mac Allister is hoping to stay at Brighton and Hove Albion.

thinks

Graham Potter

is among the world’s elite, revealing that he would rather not think about the boss’ potential move to

Chelsea

.

Potter is said to be considered as a replacement for Thomas Tuchel at the Blues after the dismissal of the German tactician.

He is on the verge of meeting Blues owner Todd Boehly on Wednesday.

Potter has been able to deliver growth at Brighton, helping his side end the Premier League sitting ninth last season.

Brighton have won four on their first six matches in the Premier League, grabbing 13 points. However, Mac Allister insisted that Potter will remain put, while also praising him as one of the greatest managers in the world.

"For sure [he is among the elite coaches in world football], he will be an amazing coach,"

 Mac Allister told

Sky Sports

.

"Hopefully he will stay here all his life but, at the same time, we know that will maybe be difficult, but he is really important for us as a club.

"I prefer not to think about [life without him] to be honest. Graham is really important for us, and we don't think about the future.

"We think about the present and he is here now, and we know we've got an important game at the weekend. We want the coaching staff to help us win that game."

Quizzed if Potter had mentioned the Blues on Wednesday, Mac Allister said: "

I don't know anything.

"We didn’t speak about any situation. The boss is really important for us, we want him to be here for a long time."
