Casemiro bids Real Madrid farewell ahead of Man United move

The five-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid, Casemiro has long established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world and is set to join United for a reported €70m fee as he states his farewell letter to the Los Blancos fans.

Making more than 300 appearances for Real Madrid,

Casemiro

helped the club to a Champions League and LaLiga double last season and was named man of the match in the Super Cup victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, which lived to be his last game for

the Los Blancos

before making a reportedly €70m move to

Manchester United

.

The Brazilian midfielder bid his farewell to Madrid’s fans in

a social media post

:

"I have lived the most wonderful story that I ever thought. I hope to return one day to what will always be my home. Not in a thousand lifetimes will I be able to give back to Real Madrid all that you have given me. Forever… Hala Madrid!"

The French centre-back,

welcomed his former teammate to Manchester United on Instagram writing:

"Many battles fought together with my warrior Case! Welcome to Manchester, amigo.”

After losing on their main summer target Frenkie de Jong,

Eric ten Hag

's side has gone all in by offering Real Madrid an initial fee of £60m with a weekly wage of £350,000 for the 30-year-old defensive midfielder, Casemiro. The Brazilian will reportedly pen a four-year deal in the coming days.
