Roma to complete Wijnaldum transfer before friendly against Shakhtar

reports. However, with Roma refusing to accept an obligation to buy at the end of the loan spell and only eager to cover around 50% of the player’s salary, a deal is yet to be agreed with the Parisians as they are holding up the deal.

The Ligue 1 side

will reportedly allow the midfielder to leave the club on a one-year loan deal with an obligation for

to buy the midfielder at the end of the season for a fee between €10m and €15m. However, to achieve the Roma move, Wijnaldum has opted to sacrifice a bonus owed to him by the French club in addition to reducing his wage demands to speed up the transfer’s process

Despite having a disappointing debut season at Paris Saint-Germain, Wijnaldum contributed three goals and three assists for the Parisians through his 38 competitive appearances. After signing

Paulo Dybala

and Nemanja Matic as free transfers this summer, the former Liverpool midfielder could be a great boost for the Giallorossi.

With his contract with

ending last season, the 30-year-old was speculated to make a move to Barca and link up with Ronald Koeman. However, he achieved a huge-money move to Paris Saint-Germain after his brilliant performances with the Netherlands in Euros, where he led his side with eight goals in Euro 2020 throughout the tournament.
