Christensen is proud his Barcelona dream came true

After a long wait due to Barcelona’s struggle with their wage structure, the Blaugrana finally completed the free signing of Andreas Christensen from Chelsea. He joins an already-strong roster and is proud of joining the Catalan club.

Christensen's deal was officially completed and announced as the Dane becomes Barca's second signing of the transfer window after Kessie. The Centre-back has reportedly agreed on a four-year deal that includes a €500millon buy-out clause. Christensen, who’s earned 57 caps for the Danish national team, made his senior with Chelsea but was unable to establish himself in the first team, an impressive 2-year loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach made him a first-team player upon his return to

Chelsea

.

Coming off that long way, Christensen is finally proud to be at a place he feels belonged. Christensen said at his presentation ceremony, as quoted by

Mundo Deportivo

:

“I’m very proud. It’s a dream that I’ve had for a long time. I’m very grateful to the president, the vice president, Mateu [Alemany] and Jordi [Cruyff].

These two players are not the only new additions for Barcelona in the summer transfer window as they are eyeing Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, Bernardo Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Marcos Alonso. The Blaugrana are hoping to improve their previous year’s performance as they suffered an exit from the Champions League.

Barcelona

are also competing with Christensen’s former club, Chelsea, for Leeds United’s Raphinha. It’s been reported that Chelsea has reportedly agreed on a fee with Leeds, however, the transfer is yet to be done.
