Pochettino catches Athletic Club’s attention
Mauricio Pochettino has attracted the attention of the Athletic Club.

, Ricardo Barkala, who is on the verge of becoming the Basque club’s future president, wants to bring in
Mauricio Pochettino
as their head coach and Ramon Planes as their sporting director.
Pochettino has reached an agreement with
Paris Saint-Germainto terminate his deal and they are now discussing the compensation. When they reach that conclusion, then his departure will be pronounced. Reportedly, it will cost PSG more than €10m.
Athletic have parted ways with Marcelino and are looking for a coach who can help them get to the next level. They ended the La Liga season sitting eighth, four points adrift of Villarreal and the Europa Conference League qualification.
The PSG boss is quite experienced, with his first position coming with Espanyol, whom he coached for three years before making a move to
Southamptonin 2013.
After a year he made a move to
Tottenham Hotspurs, who he guided to the Champions league final in 2019, but he was dismissed shortly after that. He has been the manager of PSG since 2021.
