Blatter & Platini trial delayed: Ex-FIFA boss too sick to testify

Sepp Blatter's court case in Switzerland will start a day late after being postponed due to sickness.

Former FIFA president Sepp Blatter and ex-UEFA president Michel Platini's trial has been postponed by one day after the former stated that he was too sick to attend the court.

Blatter and Platini were scheduled to appear before a judge on Wednesday at the Federal Criminal Court in Bellinzona, where they face fraud allegations.

Judges, on the other hand, granted Blatter a one-day delay when he complained of chest symptoms.

The pair were expelled from football in 2015 due to allegations of fraud, and Swiss authorities indicted them in November of last year.

Blatter allegedly paid an illegal payment of 2 million Swiss francs (£1.6 million) to Platini in 2011.

Both individuals have denied any misconduct.
