Marseille must be a collective team to stop Mbappe - Sampaoli
Jorge Sampaoli knows how talismanic Kylian Mbappe is and how much of a threat he can be for his Marseille side in the Sunday Classique.
Jorge Sampaoli
thinks that
Kylian Mbappe
is “far above” any
Marseilleplayer, hinting that his side should work together to stop the
Paris Saint-Germainstar who is “almost unstoppable” in Classique.
The France international is showing off his rich form in Ligue 1, having scored 20 goals and contributed 14 assists.
The Marseille coach had a painful experience with the Frenchman before when he netted two goals to kick them out of the 2018 World Cup, leading to France 4-3 victory in the Round of 16 in Russia.
The manager is well aware of the potential the player has before their clash on Sunday.
"I had the opportunity to face him at the World Cup and here when Paris came,"
Sampaoli said ahead of the match.
"And each time, he makes the difference: in space, with the ball, in his finish. With the players he has around him, he is almost unstoppable.
"We must be a great collective team, because individually he is far above."
