Al Nassr offered Arsenal £6.7m for Aubameyang
The North London club have yet to reply to the proposal for their former captain.
Al Nassr, a Saudi Arabian club, has made an offer for Arsenal's
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
. The proposal for the former Arsenal skipper was received earlier this week, but the
Premier Leagueclub has yet to answer.
Aubameyang hasn't featured for Arsenal since being deprived of captaincy by Mikel Arteta last month for arriving late from an abroad vacation.
Al Nassr's proposal is for a loan with an option to buy in the summer for roughly £6.7 million ($9.1 million).
Arsenal haven't reacted to the offer yet, with the club's executives contemplating the logic of letting the 32-year-old depart at the halfway point of the season.
The Gunners are looking for a new forward, but if one does not arrive by the conclusion of this month's transfer season, they will be left with few choices upfront if Aubameyang leaves.
The Gabonese FA claimed the striker was struggling with cardiac issues after testing positive for Covid-19.
On Wednesday, Arteta provided an update on the issue, confirming that Aubameyang still had precautionary examinations.
"He's in London and now he's going through some examinations because we haven't had any clarity from the Gabon national team about the reasons why he came back," said the Spaniard.
"Obviously it's our obligation to make sure that medically the player is safe, is in good condition and that there are not any issues relating to that.
"And to try to avoid any suggestion that that is the case because so far historically everything that we have done with the player, he has never had that issue.
"So let's go step by step, let's do the right examinations and make sure the player's health is in the best possible condition. Then we will see what happens."
