Wilshere ready to play in Premier League - Arteta

The Spanish coach praised his former teammate.

Arsenal

boss Mikel Arteta has claimed that

Jack Wilshere

could play in the Premier League but is unsure if he will reach an agreement with Arsenal.

Wilshere, who moved from Arsenal's academy to the first team, had a significant shine in the team, but several injuries gradually kept him out of the Arsenal squad and he was eventually forced to leave the club and was eventually released by

Bournemouth

until now. The player is free. Wilshere, now 29, has played 34 caps for England and is currently training with Arsenal to stay fit, with Arteta claiming he can return to the Premier League.

"First of all it's great to have him around. He is this type of character who adds special feeling to the club. He comes in every day with a smile on his face, trying to do his best.

"His talent is unquestionable. When you see him in training, I think you have had some players say he is the best in training. So he has that.

"Now he is doing his coaching badges and it is completely up to him what the next step in his career will be and we are here to support that."

Asked if Wilshere is ready to play in Premier League, Arteta said:

“100 per cent, and if he has doubts I can tell him that.”

Quizzed on weather Arsenal will give him the opportunity, the Spanish coach said:

“That’s a different story.”
