Antonio Conte slams Tottenham’s poor performance against Mura

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte was angry following his side’s surprise 2-1 defeat to Slovenians Mura in the Europa Conference League, saying ‘It will take time to bring Tottenham back.’

Tottenham

suffered one of the most embarrassing nights in their history as they were beaten 2-1 by Slovenians

Mura

in the Europa Conference League.

Spurs had a horrible evening in Slovenia, falling behind 1-0 to a

Tomi Horvat

strike after

Ryan Sessegnon

was sent off after 30 minutes in.

Harry Kane

scored the equalizer, but a stoppage-time winner from

Amadej Marosa

gave the hosts all three points.

The former

Inter

coach expressed his disappointment in his post-match press conference, telling reporters:

“This a bad loss for us,”

“The performance was poor. We know we have a lot of work ahead of us. This is a difficult moment for us.

“We need patience to improve, to be good again. We were poor not only technically and tactically but also mentally. It will take time to bring Tottenham back.”

Spurs would almost certainly need to beat

Rennes

in their last game to guarantee their place in the knockout rounds, since they can no longer qualify as group winners, forcing them to play an additional round.
